According to a new study, using lithium drugs to treat Alzheimer's
may worsen the disease. Lithium drugs--which are commonly used to
treat people with manic depressive illness--are being studied as a
possible Alzheimer's treatment. But North Carolina researchers say
that using too high a dose of lithium can actually kill brain
cells.
