An experimental medication was shown to have a similar power to
control bipolar disorder symtpoms as Zyprexa in a new study. The
new med, asenapine, reduced mania symptoms in patients with a manic
or mixed episode as well as Zyprexa in the trial. Many experts
consider Zyprexa to be the 'gold standard' treatment for mania in
bipolar disorder.
