Seroquel XR approved for bipolar disorder

Drugmaker AstraZeneca has announced that its medication Seroquel XR may now be used for treatment of bipolar disorder. According to a company press release, Seroquel XR has been approved to treat depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder (BPD) and the manic and mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder. The drug also can be used as a maintenance therapy when combined with lithium or Depakote.  Read more »
