Depression, other mental problems more common in first-time moms

Women who have recently given birth to their first child have a higher risk of being hospitalized for mental disorders than other women, a new study suggests. Researchers found a higher rate of depression, bipolar disorder, postpartum psychosis, and schizophrenia in new mothers. New fathers do not appear to experience this increased risk. Read more »
