What Does Lithium Do For Bipolar Patients?
A new study at UCLA suggests that lithium may increase the amount of gray matter in the brains of patients with bipolar disorder. Researchers found as much as 15-percent more gray matter in the brains of bipolar patients who took lithium than in the brains of people who did not take the medication.
