Study: Women have more, scarier nightmares than men

A new British study has found that women have more--and more scary--nightmares than men. In the study, investigators asked 100 women and 93 men to record their dreams. They found that 19 percent of the men reported having a nightmare, compared with 30 percent of women. The women's nightmares fit into three broad categories: being chased or threatened, losing a loved one, and "confused dreams.'' Men's nightmares more often included physical attacks. Researchers say women's menstrual cycles and men's sleep apnea may be behind the differences in nightmares.  Read full story >
