Actress Glenn Close tackles stigma of mental illness

Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actress Glenn Close is speaking out against the stigma surrounding mental illness by openly discussing her family's struggle with mood disorders. Close's sister Jessie suffers from bipolar disorder, and Jessie's son has schizo-affective disorder, two mental health conditions that Close says should be discussed "as openly as cancer or diabetes." In addition to her awareness campaign, Close is the creator of a non-profit organization called BringChange2Mind, which seeks to provide support and information to families affected by mental illness.
