Florida School Board Gunman Had Bipolar Disorder

Clay Duke, a 56-year-old man who suffered from bipolar disorder, took his own life this week after holding a Florida school board at gunpoint. At the school board hearing, Duke first spray-painted a red "V" in a circle on the wall, a reference to the film "V for Vendetta," which Duke was obsessed with. He spoke of rising taxes and and his wife's firing from the school district before opening fire on--and missing--the school board members. He was then shot three times by a security guard before putting the gun to his own head and ending his life. His wife, Rebecca Duke, said her husband--who had both a previous criminal history and issues with money--was overwhelmed by "the economy and the world," and this had led to his actions.   Read full story >
