Updating about me

By Tina Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Hi all,

It has been a while since my last update. Treatment is done, Tamoxifen everyday... and back to a pretty good routine. Trying to lose some extra weight gained but thats not happening so quick...Tongue out But I went for a haircut (the second one) this time, and, well it was very nice to do what most people may take for granted...

My daughter came up to me and said, "hey mommy, you look like you..." After what they have seen these past 12 months, Ill take that as a compliment.

For Halloween, I went out as a "healthy" person and amused my kids.I believe I am healthy.

Dreaded scans next month, but Im positively positive Ill be OK. Help me hope.

Still have the joint pain, but working on it...

Life is simpler, but fun.

Hang in there everyone, light at the end. Im living proof...

Hugs,

Tina

Hi Tina,

Good to hear from you. It sounds like you're doing well. Your post is short but FULL of meaning -- you've certainly come a long way. Life being "simpler" yet "fun" is a wonderful way to look at it. And a second haircut and back to "looking like you" is very exciting! How sweet your daughter is.

By all means, yes -- we would be honored to "help you hope." Count on it.

Keep us posted, OK? Best of luck to you.

Sincerely,

Maria

Tina, the first scans, etc. are always scary. But after awhile, cancer isn't the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning. And then, at some point, you can go a whole day and not think of it. Time heals... and you have a whole community here helping you hope. Best - PJH

Congrats on making it through a very tough year. I'm sure it must feel strange not heading to treatments all the time. I'm 5 weeks into a 6 month chemo and from here, it seems like a long road ahead. I know it will be gone before I know it... I want to hurry time along, but still enjoy the little things in life that are much more precious than they used to be. My daughters are grown, but I have a houseful to take care of... husband, 93 year old mother, 2 dogs, 6 cats and two birds. I work two days a week and have a 2 year old grandson to spoil, so there's a lot to get better for! It's the unexpected bumps in the road that create a challenge and make us come out stronger and better. Be well and let those kids of yours help keep you strong! Think PINK!
