swollen lymph nodes and biopsys

By Kimberly Wednesday, June 29, 2011

I am scheduled for a biopsys tomorrow due to abnormal mammogram -I have swollen lymph nodes not actually right under my armpit but on right side of breast(pectoral lymph nodes)which  have grown much larger  (you can see them with the naked eye) ..could this be relted?  I am 50 and have taken progesterone for about 6 years..

Hi Kimberly - hopefully you've read our answers to the questions you posted in the Q & A section yesterday. Don't really have anything to add here, other than multiple lumps that you can see with the naked eye would be an unusual breast cancer symptom... And remember, about 85% of breast biopsies are negative - no cancer. So the odds are definitely on your side. Best of luck to you - PJH
