2100 men will get breast cancer this year. 450 will die. Isn't it time ALL breast cancer sites let people know this. Fathers with breast cancer can pass it on to their daughters. Why is it breast cancer sites only care about the women? I lost my husband Brock 3 years ago to b...

Tuesday, October 09, 2007 at 12:53 PMHi Kriss,
Thank you so much for your awareness efforts with regard to male breast cancer. As Maria pointed out, this very important topic has come up several times in our community. What did you think of it? Do you have any feedback for us?
My apologies if it wasn't easy to find that information; I am happy to help you find anything you are looking for on this site or elsewhere. I hope you will come back often and keep voicing your concerns!
Thanks,
Sarah

Tuesday, October 09, 2007 at 01:44 PMThank you for getting back to me. I appreciate that you you sent the site to me. That is one of the things that upsets me about breast cancer sites. You have to know men get breast cancer before you can find or ask for information. Just please put the sentence "MEN GET BREAST CANCER, TOO" in a place were people can click on to get the information. I was talking to friends last weekend and one of the people told me of a man that has breast cancer and he was so upset he had breast cancer that he didn't want anyone to know he had breast cancer. Years ago First Lady Betty Ford came forth that she had breast cancer so other women wouldn't have to go through what she went through. When will the message get out to were men don't have to feel ashamed? Please this is very important for the health of everyone. It isn't just the man that suffers it is also the one who love him.

Hello Kriss,
You're right -- breast cancer is not just a women's disease. Male breast cancer, although rare, does indeed occur and we need to be more aware of and open about it. See:
