      <description>Hello, Folks...My grandmother had one of the first radical mastectomies, in 1937. in Des Moines, by a doctor who studied with the Mayo brothers, in Rochester Minnesota. He removed her left breast. She never had a recurrence, and lived to be 66 years old. She passed away from unrelated illness.
I am so pleased to see that we are making great&amp;nbsp;progress in medicine, especially breast cancer.
