Hello All,

Haven't written in a while but I wanted to let you all know that I have done 5 of 6 treatments last week and this one hit me harder than the 3rd one.  The fourth one went a lot better than this one.  I am having trouble with my throat, sore, and not having an appetite or wanting to drink anything.  I also found out with the last treatment that my magnesium was low so I had to do a two hour drip before I had my treatment and now I am on pills twice a day.  Any advice on how to handle this.  I will be so glad when this is over with, I feel like giving up today but I know, this too will past, like the last one did.  I just want to thank you all again for your continue support and advice.

If you don't feel like eating that's OK (for a day or two), but you need to make yourself continue with the fluids.  They're important.  Someone suggested adding just a little bit of fruit juice to make water more palatable and that worked for me.  I liked about a quarter cup of grape juice to a cup of water best.

You're almost through with chemo, so hang in there.  It's good that even though you are feeling miserable now, you have the perspective to remember that you'll feel better in a few days.  That's just the way chemo is.  You have shown remarkable strength over the course of your treatment.  You'll get through this last phase.

Although mine was iron rather than magnesium, I found that a bite or two of baked potato helped combat the harshness of the pills.  Also, the potato sat a little better than some other foods....

Please hang in there... I know I know it is hard. I wnted to give up too. My son helped me see this will pass. Please keep your head up and remember you will get through this. Your stronger than you feel you are.

I just layed on the couch thinking that I did not want to live... but I did. It was just so unfair what this was doing to me.

I think you feel the same. But it will pass.

You will get through it and feel so much better soon.

Thanks for the encouraging words.  I know this too will past but it is making me think about my last treatment which will be on 23 Sept and I am hoping that it will not be as bad or hard as this 5th one will be but I do know that it will be my last one and I thank God for that.  I appreciate all the prayers and emails from the blogg and I also thank God for you all.  I will keep in contact, again thanks.  My two girls are here with me and they have been my backbone during this last week and they have been taking great care of me.  Thanks again.
