I saw the Onc yesterday and got the results to my petscan. Cancer has spread to my lungs, liver and bones. It's so hard to have faith after hearing that. But I will try because I want to be here for my children more than anything. Any advice or any websites I should go to, please let me know.
Gee this has really knocked me for a six. I am so sorry to hear of your bad news. I go on this site occassionally and just have a read. I have actually corresponded with you in the past. I was diagnosed in June 2007. Like you I am young. I have only one child. Not that any of that makes a difference. I wish nobody had to get any kind of sickness. Whether it be cancer or anything at all. A good friend of mine that I made during chemo had to have a biopsy today as she found a lump in her neck. It is 12 months next week since she was diagnosed with bc aswell. She is freaking out thinking it has spread. It is just such a roller coaster ride this. One minute you are able to be really positive and the next minute you can be in a depression so deep you never think you will get out. I have recently been reading a book about peoples different stories with breast cancer and I have realised one thing, well I really knew it before, but not to put into words. Being positive and having faith is not about being cured. And you cant loose faith or positivity because of not being cured. Especially now you need to hold onto those two things more than ever. I now have a lot of friends that are fighting cancer and some are positive and some not so positive. But the thing about being positive is just really living each day to the absolute fullest and making the most of life as it is. We cannot change what is happening to us. And being down in the dumps will only add to make things worse i believe. You are living my worst fear. And Tiffany I will include you in my prayers every single day, but we all need to try to make the most out of what we have been given. I too have heard stories about people living a long time with metastatic disease and I hope that will be you, and I hope you dont think I am being blaze' because it is not happening to me. That is not it at all, because I too dont know what tomorrow will hold for me either. You'll probably hear from some people with mets who have lived a long time with a good quality of life despite their mets.
