I was single when i was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. I thought that i would never be able to find someone to love me when they saw what the mastectomies looked like. Well I did find someone who went through the surgery and the chemo with me and then the surgeries for the implants. He kept asking me to marry him and I kept telling him I would as soon as I got the free and clear from cancer. He hounded me for months and so one day we were on the front porch just enjoying the nice weather and he asked me again. I finally said " Ok pick a date". He told me he wanted to get married in 2 weeks. I did not realize that the date he had picked was my birthday. He said he wanted to make it special for me. Well we got married and I had my tests 6 months later and got a clean bill of health for now. I will always remember how he went about getting me to marry him no matter what i looked like.

Wow, that so romantic! You should sell the rights to that story to a writer/movie producer! I am two years post my bilateral mastectomies and implant reconstruction. I was/am single and was grateful to have my children to support me through the whole ordeal. I hope someday I can be as lucky in love as you are!
