I had silicone breast implants put in after my bi lateral mastectomy last september. Now I find out that one of them may be leaking. I am in constant pain and lately I am even getting sick alot. More than I ever have except for when I was taking chemotherapy. The one breast is even shaped oddly and sinks in. I had an MRI done 1 1/2 weeks ago and still haven't heard from my doctor. I have read alot about silicone breast implants since then and have found out they did not prove or disprove that these things are dangerous and yet the FDA put it back on the market for more testing. Now I feel like a guinea pig. Not what I wanted to be after all the pain and sickness I just went through with the cancer. And the doctor never told me this. I read it here on the computer.
I now know that I should have checked into this before I had made a decision on what implant to get. I learned to always ask as many questions as I can before making any decisions.

Hello and thank you for your SharePost. Your situation is common and unfortunate.
It's good to hear that you did have an MRI done to determine the problems you're having with your silicone breast implants, but it's NOT GOOD that nearly two weeks have passed and you've heard nothing from your doctor regarding test results. I suggest you initiate contact, frequently and repeatedly if need be, to your doctor's office to keep the testing, and whatever next steps may be in order to help you, on track.
As far as your hindsight in researching a treatment or procedure first before deciding to take a step, you're right. We all learn at points in our lives that "hindsight is 20/20," and from there it's just a matter of moving on with eyes more wide open in order to make better decisions in the future. "Live and learn" as they say. Everyone can relate.
Best of luck to you. - M
