Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 12:12 AMWell I finally heard from my doctor. My silicone implants are leaking and I will have to have another surgery to get them replaced. I asked my doctor if I could get the saline implants put in instead of more silicone implants. I hope that the next implants last longer than these did. I had the silicone implants put in in September of 2006. That is not a very long time to have them in before they ruptured. I do not want to go through this every year. I would rather stay flat chested then to do that. Thank you for you good wishes Maria.

Hello and thank you for your SharePost. Your situation is common and unfortunate.
It's good to hear that you did have an MRI done to determine the problems you're having with your silicone breast implants, but it's NOT GOOD that nearly two weeks have passed and you've heard nothing from your doctor regarding test results. I suggest you initiate contact, frequently and repeatedly if need be, to your doctor's office to keep the testing, and whatever next steps may be in order to help you, on track.
As far as your hindsight in researching a treatment or procedure first before deciding to take a step, you're right. We all learn at points in our lives that "hindsight is 20/20," and from there it's just a matter of moving on with eyes more wide open in order to make better decisions in the future. "Live and learn" as they say. Everyone can relate.
Best of luck to you. - M
