Lumps between breasts?

I have no idea if this is just ironic timing or if my awarenss of my chest area is just heightened b/c of doing the 3 Day Walk. I was giving myself a self exam and noticed a bump (knot, lump...whatever you want to call it) in BETWEEN my breasts. Over the sternum. Can breast cancer form in this area? I plan on scheduling an appt with my dr. just to be safe.

FEEL YOUR BOOBS

I know that this is a message that may not need to be emphasized on this website but I still have to say it. I came across this great website (http://www.breastcancer.org/) which has a step by step diagram on how to do it. I also was watching Lynne Doyle on CN8 (she did the Boston Breast Cancer 3 Day). One of the guests mentioned that the shower-check may not be the best way, especially if you have larger breasts. You need...

Philadelphia BC 3 Day Walk this weekend

I have been training for the 3 Day Walk since mid March. I can hardly believe it is around the corner (Oct 5-7). I have met many amazing people on this journey and their stories have helped keep me moving forward, even when my legs and feet wanted to STAY PUT! I have created a blog documenting my journey. Since this is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I want to pepper my blog with lots of information. I want to stress...

Honoring the memory

I have been fortunate to NOT have been directly affected by breast cancer. Nobody in my immediate family or circle of friends has this disease (God willing, it stays that way). But almost everyone I know KNOWS someone who has been touched by breast cancer....a friend, a coworker, a neighbor.

In memory of all who have passed, and in honor of those who are fighting, I am walking in The Breast Cancer 3 Day. I use the...

Let it Snow!

I have been registered for the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk since mid-march. Fundraising has been slow but I have also been able to find the motivation to keep moving forward due to the touching and inspiring stories I have read on here as well as other blogs.

This week, things have started moving in the right direction. Between posting on many different blogs and sending random emails to coworkers and people from my church...

Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk

My name is Heather. I recently registered for the Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk. Fortunately, nobody in my immediate family has been afflicted with this disease (god willing, it remains that way). My grandmother lost her sister and my best friend lost her aunt to breast cancer. My aunt had a recent scare with a lump that, thankfully, turned out to be fibroid in nature.

I am 35, never had kids, and about 80 lbs...
