Orange polyester, I think, is very chic.
And I always had a weakness for white go-go boots, growing up in the 60s and being a LAUGH-IN fan!
The Pink Backlash is like shooting ourselves in the foot--breast cancer gets a lot of attention because of all that pink. It's the squeaky wheel syndrome.
PJ, thank you so much for your comments.
I am thrilled to be blogging along with you.
It is an honor.
Best of health,

Marisa...welcome to the website. I reviewed your wonderful book, Cancer Vixen, on this site. I loved the book (which I found by chance at our public library), your spirit, and your fabulous art. Everyone at healthcentral.com was very excited about my discovery.
After more than 100 blogs on this website, I finally found I had no more to say about breast cancer, but today I have begun breast cancer blogging again on my own site, http://beaverislandarts.com, inspired by the most important book I have ever read as a breast cancer survivor: The China Study, by T. Colin Campbell. You can find many reviews on Amazon as well as my review on Mary's Breast Cancer Blog. Dr. Campbell, an astute and highly respected researcher, has discovered strong correlations between diet and disease, especially breast cancer. I find it deeply disturbing that the powerful effects of diet are so seldom made known to us, esp. by the medical community. Please check it out for yourself, Marisa.
So many warm wishes!
It is refreshing that all of these organizations are teaming up to share information - seems like a no-brainer for any cause, but it's easy to see how other agendas (and egos) can get in the way.
Hopefully this inspires more research foundations and support orgs to team up in other health areas to make a difference. Groups only hurt the cause when they limit their collaborative efforts.
Love the illustrations! Keep up the great work!
Pete,
Thank you so much for your input.
I am thrilled to be part of mybreastcancernetwork.com.
There is such an amazing group of voices
and opinions.
To win the war of breast cancer, we really need the allied forces to unite and fight. (And of course research needs funding.)
Take care and stay in touch,
Marisa
