Live-Blogging Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kickoff Event

I'm here at jfK, with some Delta pilots.

A benefit for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, where the Foundation Babes, including The Patron Saint of Breast Cancer Evelyn Lauder fly to Washington DC with Melissa Etheridge and her fans!

Everyone here works for Delta, and most of them are survivors,

including JR, who is second from the right. He is the only male

breast cancer survivor at Delta. "I'm very honored and pleased

to be here." He tells me.

While I was taking pictures of them...

They were all taking pictures of my shoes.

All this activity and we haven't boarded yet, and my battery

is dying! Yikes

Evelyn Lauder is talking. And that's Melissa Etheridge in the

foreground. We're here partnering with the Hard Rock and Delta

and we will light the JFK tower pink. It's the Kick Off of Breast

Cancer Awareness Month, which was designated so by congress

in 1988.

And today is Pinktober Day, as proclaimed by Mayor Bloomberg.
