Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

Bravo to Robin

By Anniston Tuesday, July 31, 2007
Bravo to Robin for her courage and her determination.  Her example, and Elizabeth Edwards' recently before her, remind us that cancer can strike anyone, and as PJ says, everyone it strikes is part of the same community.  It's interesting, Robin said in her announcement that the impetus to do a self-exam (when she found the lump) was in part the result of a colleague's untimely death from cancer.  Early detection can make all the difference!

You're right - early detection is key to increasing the chances of beating breast cancer in its earliest stages.

As an important reminder to all women, see our video of How To Do A Self Breast Exam - the first line of defense against breast cancer, and the most effective way to catch breast cancer when it's most treatable.

Started back to work today. And apparently feisty as ever. Looks like she's a fighter, AND I hope she's also giving herself time to assimilate what's happening, to be angry, grieve, to work through her feelings. So that she can build up deep reserves of strength, that she can later call on to STAY FEISTY. - PJH
