11-10-2005 my daughters b-day thats when i got my news. i had two sm sights 1mm & 4mm.i had a lumpect x 2, ihad dirty margins. then i burned sooo bad from radition, 71/2 wks. landed in hosp 1dr said infection 1said radition, i didnt care which i was in pain . hosp drained me and at the same time gave me a staph infection that i lived with for 5 months thats when i put myself in the hosp, until then i was told you just have to heal. i was on iv antibiotic for 2 mon.since then ive had to be drained every few mon. Now 11/07 they want to do another biospy but, they cant do it unless i go to sleep[surgery again] Im wanting tojust rip em off they [boobs] are not worth all this crap.Problem now is finding a plastic surgen
It's probably not the politically correct thing for me to say, but I too had multi-focal sites. I said "Chop it off!"
I opted for a mastectomy and chemo instead of double lumpectomy, radition. In fact, with dirty margins I"m surprised they even attempted to conserve the breast.
As for the other side, I too had a lump over there. The core biopsy revealed no evidence of malignancy. So, it doesn't necessarily transfer.
Also, the biopsy I had under anesthesia left far less bruising than did the core needle biopsy. Still bruised~!

"Chop it off" thats what i should have been told. Well im seeing a new surgeon next week. Referal for plastics is in the works.Poteet you have a great sence of humor keep it up cause thats what we have to do laugh at it and kick its butt. Best to ya
Kim- glad you found a new team to help you out. It took a few tries but I finally got someone my cancer center who listens to me as well. It made all the difference.
