Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 05:22 PMThanks for your note. As you probably know, we haven't identified a receptor or a biomarker to identify people with triple-negative disease; they're identified by the absence of hormone receptors and HER-2. But lots of research is being done to characterize triple-negative breast cancer biologically, and figure out what treatments work best for them. The best place to start reviewing research is Pubmed at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez/. The best place to find clinical trials is http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. The FDA website also has information on clinical trials at http://www.fda.gov/oashi/clinicaltrials/default.htm.
Results from govenment funded research are supposed to be published and available free to the public. But not all journals make that happen, and phamaceutical companies often neglect to publish negative findings, so it can be difficult to assess the weight of the evidence when you're not really looking at all of it.
Good luck.

Hi Fran - I did watch the Lifetime movie Sunday night. Thank God for the drive and devotion of that Doctor to keep researching Herceptin even though the powers that be wanted to put it on a back burner. I wonder how many drugs are being developed out there and being put on the back burner by drug company bigwigs!
Do you know of any research/trials, etc. regarding triple negative receptors???
Thanks for any info or direction you can give me.
