About Me

I am a 68 year old retired nurse who decided to go back to school and get a degree in art.  I am now working on a Masters in Art as well as teaching for the city of Lumberton NC.  I teach blind and visually impaired people how to hand build pottery and oil painting to people 55 and over.  Needless to say, I enjoy what I do...more so than the actual nursing...These people are so wonderful, especially the blind and visually impaired.  It makes you appreciate what you have.  my students have been so supportive.  I actually took my radiation during my lunch break...I missed only one week of classes and that was following the 2nd surgery with excision of left over ca in the breast and removal of the lymph nodes under my arm.  I guess what I am trying to say is...just keep busy and don't let this interfer with your plans...it is only a small stone in the road, so walk around it.  My CT a couple of weeks ago showed I am cancer free in my breast and my lungs...praise the Lord, I do every day...Georgia in NC
