Totally. It's always, "So, you're cured, huh?" The inference being, everything's fine, everything's back to "normal" - when we know that we can never go back to that "old" normal. And in fact, unless you have DCIS or LCIS, it's tricky to say you're "cured." But we can certainly create a new normal, benchmarks against which we measure our day-to-day feelings, aches and pains, energy and outlook... Breast cancer IS ongoing. Don't let it direct your life, but don't spend time fighting how you feel, either; go with the flow, make the best of it, one foot in front of the other, all that stuff. One day at a time.
