I am halfway through radiation treatments now...14 sessions to go. Six regular treatments and then 8 "boost" treatments focused just on the tumor area. The doc said my skin is holding up pretty well, despite the fact that I got a heat rash of sorts within the first 4 sessions. Doctor says it's "just inflamed hair follicles." I go through period when they itch like mad...just about makes me crazy! Then it subsides to a level I can more or less ignore. They gave me a steroid cream to use on the rash, but the generic hydrocortisone with additional moisturizers I had picked up before that seems to relieve the itching better than the prescription steroid, so I have been using that along with the Special Skin Care lotion they gave me to apply over the whole area of radiation. I'm fairly pink, but no peeling yet. Starting to feel some fatigue, although I would guess that it will probably be worse next week when I have to go back to work. At least the past couple of weeks I have been able to sleep quite a bit more than I usually do-I'm sure that has helped. Hope everyone else is doing well!
