At 41, I just wanted to post a few pics of my journey for those who may just being diagnosed now. Keep your family and friends close to you. Lean on those who you may not have thought you could. Let go of some who may not be able to deal.

Aug 07-cut my hair before Chemo started. Once it started to fall out I shaved it. Too traumatic.

Sept after shaving.
Nothing kept me from a Sox Game- so sick after this game- but hey- we won!

Then the chemo starts- it's not pretty. Have a good friend or relative with you, and keep your chin up. I didn't think I could cry that many tears.

It gets better with time, and before you know it, for some, not all, your hair will come back, and that smile will appear on your face again. Have faith, and look to others for the strength you sometimes feel you don't have.

Going through radiation wasn't easy with burns over the breast and underarm area for 55 treatments. Ouch!

Red Sox Game May 08! Ready for the season, and 11 follow up Dr Appointments! Wish me luck!
I hope I brought a smile to those of you still in treatment. 16 weeks of chemo, 52 rounds of radiation, and another 4.75 years of tamoxifen, and yes I'm scared every time I don't feel well. Everyone's story is different, and I was very fortunate with an early catch, great surgeons, and reconstruction prior to radiation. As one poster said- I can't go back to pre cancer, pre mastectomy, prehair, etc. But I can move forward making the days ahead vibrant and meaningful.
