World peace... an end to hunger... a stable economy... jobs for all... health care that keeps people healthy... Whatever you wished for this year, it probably wasn't a box of hair.
But since Debi got her first chemotherpy just 10 days before Christmas she started shedding just after the holiday.
and was into full molt by New Year's Eve, which we spent at a lovely but boring hospital suite. The fancy bed has lots of buttons that make it go up and down, and the suite comes equipped with a nifty computer that pumps fluids into me so Debi can grow more white blood cells.
No, it was not the holiday we'd wished for, but at least we both got new hairstyles...
(Debi thanks Leah at Pomegranate in Deep River for the cool colors and adriamycin and taxol for the wispy, scalpy look; and John thanks Isabelle at Pomegranate for the tufty cueball do!)
We will get through this together.
2010 will start off hard, but will get much better as we work our way back toward the next fifty years of our lives. Many good friends are watching our backs and keeping us smiling, and we are humbly grateful for their love and support.
We hope to keep appreciating every minute we have with each other, and we wish everyone a very happy 2010!

Be, stay or get well,
John & Debi

Debi, this post is DA BOMB! Thanks for brightening my cold Vermont day... I hope 2010 is a memorable year for you and your "cueball" - memorable for this cancer journey, and how it changes your life in a positive way. Safe travels, and stay in touch - PJH
Thanks, PJ! John, my beloved "cueball", surprised me with his new sympathy do, a New Year's Eve balloon and hats, and he set up the camera. This series, and the story, was all his doing. I am so very blessed. And yes.. cancer has the most amazing silver linings.
All the best.. Debi
