Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 07:08 PMI'm glad the researchers are finally getting a handle on the way breast cancer affects different ethnic groups. We DON'T all show the same patterns of getting it, fighting it, and surviving it; aside from some correctable socioeconomic issues revolving around treatment and access to it, there are also some very important biological issues distinguishing whites, blacks, Asian, and Hispanic women from one another. It's about time those differences were recognized and dealt with. This is a good step: let women of different ethnic groups understand what THEIR risks are. As we all know, breast cancer is certainly not a "one size fits all" disease. Thanks for posting this, Sarah.
