Well, the wbc was low last Friday, but popped back up so that they will (probably) go ahead with infusion number three tomorrow. As I was talking to the nurse reviewing the cbc results yesterday, she said this is just a terrible time to be through this. We're in the midwest with all the snow storms, ice storms, frigid temps, freezing rain, and possibly six inches of, you guessed it, more snow, expected overnight for my drive to chemo in the morning.
I'm treating myself to an afternoon with my son, maybe building a snowman with what we already have on the ground. A trip to the bookstore is definitely in order. Who knows, I might even find a couple of bargains at the local Holiday Store to put away for next year.
It's true I have moments of being 'down' just like any other person. But I will be danged if I let this disease steal my love of life or laughter. A friend asked me for a memorable Christmas moment. It is my son's squeal when he realized Santa brought him a skateboard. (Don't know what Santa was thinking on that one.)
So, I will bundle up and allow plenty of drive time to chemo in the morning with the sureity that I'm beating this thing so I can listen to years and years of squeals on Christmas morning.
