Rattling when I walk

by  Poteet
Wednesday, January 02, 2008

I know we're all in the same boat here, but does anyone else rattle when they walk from all the pills? Good grief Charlie Brown, if we weren't supposed to be nauseated by the chemo, the volume of meds would guarantee it. I learned Monday that my anemia is acting up (down) again. It does whenever I'm stressed out, preggo, etc. I'm already taking one iron tab daily, now it's two. And my calcium is down, so add yet another daily tab.

Then there's the allergy tabs, mouth sore stuff, nexium, anti-depressant, stuff to battle the constipation, sleeping pill and sometimes a muscle relaxant. Then last week I had the antibiotic as well. Jeez it's enough to make you think your kidneys are going to start waving white flags. I've pretty much stopped taking tylenol or ibuprofen. I can live with mild headaches a lot easier than I used to. Perspective is a wonderful thing--- I'd rather cope with an allergy headache than subject my stomach and system to yet more pills.

Infusion number three is in the body and things are SOP. Or as standard operational procedure as chemo life can be. Not too much nausea, just a lot of tiredness. I spent part of Sunday with my sister and her crew having Christmas. It was just a few hours. It took a day and a half for me to recover.

I looked at the Christmas tree yesterday and decided it could stay up another day or two. Maybe I'll call a couple of friends and have a tree dismantling pizza some evening. I didn't put any lights outside this year. Kinda glad now that I didn't. I missed them, but I have a feeling they would have been there until spring this year, or next.

It's frigid temps here again today. 5 whole degrees when I left the house this morning. Supposed to top out in the mid-twenties. This weekend will be a balmy 50! Can hardly wait.

Take care everyone.
