It seems, as women, we learn to share perhaps more easily than men. Me, I share everything... anxiety, depression, disgusting tidbits. Hey, I have a younger sister with whom I shared a room for most of our youth. Try to hide anything in that environment. So, I have decided to share with my chemo sisters my theory on why God designed pubic hair.
Let's face it, we 40-something women, leak. Various forms of dampness then adheres to the material of our undies. If we no longer have that thin, but oh so effective, layer of hair, our delicate skin attaches itself to our delicates.
There are times these days when I feel like I'm pulling off a diaper. Remember that slllooooppp sound it used to make when you pulled it away from the baby's bottom? Yep - I've regressed to potty jokes and diaper noises. I'm right down there with my six year old son!
Seriously, God's design of the human body is so intricate and complex. I don't think I really appreciated how every little hair has a purpose until I no longer had hair. I've come to appreciate it in a whole new way.
Round four is making me tired as usual, but it's uplifting to also know it was my last. I now look forward to all the post-appointments and tests. I am ready to be declared cancer free.
I declared myself a survivor long ago.
Take care everyone and go share a huge hug with someone.
