I typed this all in once, then the puter blipped. Sigh -
But I have learned this past week the importance of taking care of ourselves. I had my final infusion and apparently forgot that I am technically still "in treatment" with chemo running through my sy...

Friday, February 01, 2008 at 07:34 PMExactly 2 weeks after I finished chemo, and figured, "Ahhh, all better now," I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and nearly died! Lesson learned. You have to advocate for yourself, AND take care of yourself. YOU are worth it; we all are. and as for causing a pileup on the lap track, stand your ground! You have as much right to trudge in circles as they do to run! First we wobble, then we trudge, then walk, then walk fast, then maybe even jog.. or maybe not. The point is to move, and keep moving. You've got the idea - and a great attitude. Go for it - and treat yourself as anyone precious deserves to be treated! - XXX PJH

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 at 04:00 PMI loved your note. I am a seven year breast cancer survivor and do believe that attitude is almost as important as treatment!! One does have to slow and respect the "stuff" for a while after treatment is over however. We are all so tired of the whole thing by the time it is over we just have to rip and run again. Stay well. God bless.

Poteet,
Well said -- and SO important to follow every single day, breast cancer or not. "Like our bras..." -- a perfect analogy. Thank you for reminding us.
Rest well. I hope you're feeling better soon.
Best,
Maria
