Hi all - I have finished treatment, but I just can't stay away from this place.
Well, it has happened. I have a tiny little fuzz on the top of my head! Hippity-hoppity hair is on its way! That assumes I don't rub it all off checking it every thirty seconds. Never mind that it appears to be almost totally gray. Never mind that it's still puny and my scalp still shines through. It is HAIR on the top of my HEAD!
That said, the gotcha of the return of hair, is that hair is returning other places too. I had to dig the razor out from behind the soap on the shower shelf and get the stubble off my armpits. Now, that was something I could have gone without ever missing.
But the most unfair part, the really totally not-fair-at-all part, is that pesky chin hair that we 47 year old women deny is even there. Yep, I had to grab the tweezers and pluck a hair I don't even admit to having on my chin.
It's a whole twenty degrees here in the midwest today. I still have to wear a cap because the fuzz doesn't keep my head warm yet, and I had to shave my armpits and pluck my chin hair. So, I called my sister.
Sisters, being what they are, she listened oh so carefully and let me vent with such quiet compassion. When I finished my snit, she was silent a moment, then I hear her say, "Oh, you should never have told me that."
The brat (yes, she's my younger sister) will never let me live that one down. The thing is, I can't even threaten her with short jokes or blond jokes cause she's heard them all. That's okay. One chin-hair joke, just one, and I will buy her grandkids squirt guns and fill them with finger-paint.
So, to the ladies who are still bald, or who will soon be going bald, wondering if you will be bare-headed forever - your hair will return. Trust us. The day will come when you too have to reach for the armpit razor and chin tweezers. Just remember not to tell your sister.
