So I've had the double mastectomy - September 15th, 2009. Check.

Bandages, drain, clips removed a week later. Check.

Follow-up visit with the doctor, only to be told one of the two nodes they removed is positive. Crap.

Back into surgery this past Tuesday, October 20, to have more nodes removed for analysis. Check.

And now....I wait. Up to one month to hear if they're mostly negative, mostly positive, half-in-half....who knows?

Then...probably 4 rounds of chemo.

But....I'm still optimistic! I'm not afraid.

I'm not allowed to use anti-perspirant for another month or so until they're sure the incisions are all healed up, so I'm a bit smelly. I had no idea I could sweat so much! Who knew? I've been wearing that stuff since I was like, thirteen! And now I'm fifty.

Other than that, life is good.  Cool

Hope you all are doing well, and finding courage in the midst of pain,

Love, Wendy
