Effects of Chemotherapy and electric blankets

By dclee Monday, December 17, 2007

My mom just had a masectomy and will soon begin chemo.  She is always cold.  I want to get her an electric throw fleece/robe combo for Xmas.  Will the electric fleece interfere with the chemo in any form?

dclee, I've never heard anything about electricity interfering with chemo. I'm neither a scientist nor a doctor, but never, in all the literature I've read, or in going through chemo myself, did I hear any warnings about this. I'm guessing it's just fine, and your mom will love the robe! - PJH

are the magnetic fields generated by electric blankets still linked to cancer? most of the 'electric blanket warning' internet sites seem to be from 2003, and medical opinions seem to vary differently...Some of them remind me of cigarrette company doctors, so I don't know what to believe, as I have a new electric blanket that I would like to use. I think. :)
