While new research keeps happening in breast cancer, a large number of women in India fail to reach the caregivers. India's economic growth has not translated into uniform health care. I, as a breast surgeon, wish to reach out to a larger number of needy women who cannot access care for lack of money. It breaks my heart to see an early stage breast cancer transforming into advanced cancer for lack of treatment. The incidence of breast cancer in India is rising. Why should the best of treatment, which is available here, reach only those who can afford it? How can I help? Please post your suggestions!
