Sometime in 1999, my brother and I went to my parent's house for dinner.  At this point, my brother was actually living in Los Angeles, but must have been home on a vacation.   I don't remember exactly what my parents said before dinner, but I know they did give us notice that they had...

Amy, I'm enjoying reading your posts about your mom.  I'm sure it's not easy to tell these stories, but I admire your strength in doing so.  You BOTH are very brave women :)  And I couldn't agree more -- a positive attitude works wonders in life!

Amy, I concur - staying positive makes a HUGE difference. Studies have proved that; your mom is a shining example. Thanks for sharing her with us - I wish I'd been on e of the "Pink Ladies" so I could have met her... I look forward to hearing much more. PJH

Amy thanks for sharing your post.  My mom was diagnoised with Ovarian Cancer stage 4 in 2003 and was given 6 months to live and she too lived for a long time after that.  She was a strong woman who loved her kids but I always told my family members that she fought it more because of her grandchildren.  She lived until 2006.  And she dressed up everyday, looked special in all her clothing, wore her makeup and had that salt and pepper curly hair.  She was a strong woman and she gave me her strength.  As I fight with breast cancer, I look at all that my mom went through and how she never complained about the pain or the meds or the chemo but only concentrated on her family and living her life til the end.  I have a positive attitude and great friends and family to help me. It was hard at first to give in to people helping me but now I now I have learn to live one day at a time and to enjoy my life and my kids and family and just let God do what he has to do in me.  Thanks again for the strengthing comments. God bless you and your family.  Keep in touch.
