I still dealing with daily anxiety a year and two month later. Even though my prognosis is very good-I can't seem to shake the feeling of doom which appears at least once a day. Although I dispell the thoughts, by reviewing my good prognosis and all the research, so close to figuring out what drives this desease, the daily "gloom and doom" thought arrive at the opening of my portal to life-when I wake up in the morning. Do other women deal with this issue, also?
Hi - I find that meditation, before I get up in the morning, is incredibly helpful. It's relaxing, and gives me an overall "glow" of positive feelings. Have you ever tried meditation? I listen to a meditation CD (Deepak Chopra) for about 20 minutes.
Another thing you might try is seeing a counselor. Many cancer centers and hospitals have social workers and conuselors devoted to working with cancer patients to dispel their "gloom and doom" and feelings of anxiety. Don't try to keep a stiff upper lip - get some help for yourself if you can, OK? Good luck - PJH
Thanks PJ. Your answers both on this forum and the live chat are helpful. I will purchase a mediation tape-I am very sure it will help. Thanks for being there for all of us. Annamaria
I get tapes at the library, Annamaria - that way I can check out which ones I like. Worth a try- ask the librarian to help you. PJH
Great tip. I will do so. Have wonderful evening. A movie is the agenda for tonight-then bed and early morning. Good night. And, again, thank you for your help. I am glad for people like you-very selfish on my part but a valuable resource for all. Annamaria
