I have been diagnosed with cough-variant asthma which means the most prevalent symptom of my asthma is a cough. This coughing usually occurs at the point where most asthmatics get short of breath and wheeze...such as after exercise or some physical excertion, etc. This prevalent cough comes, for me, when I laugh, eat something really hot or cold or, even if I bend over to do mundane tasks, as well as, the typcial moments when I physically exert myself.

Nothing--NOTHING-- I have tried, medicinally, has been helpful.

This cough is not only irritating to me but, to everyone else that happens to be around. I cannot suppress the urge to cough when it's triggered.

I have not always had asthma... it surged after a long bout with an upper respiratory infection.

I currently use Advair, but I've also used Ventolin for inhalers.

Does anyone else suffer with this? I would like to hear your comments and, perhaps, successful remedies for this hypersensitivity.
