Helping Women Through Breast Cancer with Shared Stories
Five years ago, I went through the hellish voyage that’s breast cancer, and now I share my experiences twice a week with women all over the world via my blog at healthcentral.com. Why do I write about cancer? Not because I want to relive the experience; I simply want to help other women who are facing this life-or-death challenge. Someone told me this just as I began treatment: “Cancer is a rock in the path; step over it, the path will still be there.” It’s true; if we’re lucky, life does go on. And when I reach out and help another woman over those rocks in the path, just as I was helped, I’m a link in the chain that stretches from here to eternity: women helping women through breast cancer.
