By PJ Hamel, Health Guide Tuesday, October 17, 2006
Why did I get cancer? Why did YOU get cancer? Was it a coin toss (tails, you lose)… flawed genes… too many hotdogs and too much beer? Marlies, I hope you feel the good feelings, too. Cancer is a challenge that lasts forever, and you can't back away from it. But it can enrich your life as you reach out to help others... If I could go back and choose whether to have cancer, I'd take this same path, for the good things it's brought me. Take care- PJH

I hope your stress free life plan works. My mom died of cancer spreading to the bones 9 years after receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. They neglected to inform her that chemotherapy just sends chemo running for deeper hiding places like in the bones, but I doubt she had any other options that would have saved her any longer. Just devastating to hear the cancer is back after so many years of believing she'd beat it.

I meant to say "chemo just sends cancer into deeper hiding" where it works in quietly then returns from with greater vigor.

Thanks for your feedback. There's no scientific evidence to support what you say about chemo - just didn't want those who might need to take it to be scared off by what you say... So sorry about your mom - I hope you're recovering from your sad loss... PJH
