I decided on the partial with radiation and chemo.  While I am not positive I made the right decision- I am going to give it one try.  If the cancer comes back I will have a mastectomy.   I am also having a reduction on both sides at the same time. Patty

Patty, none of us can ever no for sure we made the "right" decision - because "right" is a moving target. So long as we make the decision that feels right to us at the time - well, that's the best we can do. Best of luck to you - and no second-guessing, OK? You're doing what your heart tells you is best for YOU. PJH

I was told the only choose I had was a mastectomy because I had 3 places that was DCIS  and after she got in there it was invasive stage 1 cancer so was glad she had done the mastectomy but then had to have a 2nd surgery because they found more that they didn't see during the first time.I only have to take the chemo pill for 5 years but I'm have only been on them since Sept. and am already having alot of side effects.I also wish I had not done reconstruction right after because the pain has been almost unbearable. My sister said it will be worth it in the end when I get to have new 21 year old breast but to me it is not worht the pain..I worry everyday that the cancer is going to come back !!!

Time heals - it truly does. It's hard going through breast cancer treatment, but once you finish, and as it fades into the past, you'll tend to forget the pain, and be happy with the results: you're alive. Hang in there- PJH
