“I’ve got your back.”How many times have you heard guys say that to each other? Never? Then you just haven’t hung around guys in groups enough. This message refers to the support men give one another on the battlefield—the real, bombs-flying battlefield, or the one painte...
Why Walking for Breast Cancer is So Important

Hey PJ - Me and my team and thousands of others took part on the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure in San Antonio in March of this year. It was my first Walk - and also the first of each one to come.  It was amazing - all the survivors are in pink t-shirts and pink hats and the families, teammates, friends, etc. are in white t-shirts.
There's a point in the Walk where the road curves and we walk over a bridge, and if your in the back of the group all you see is a sea of pink - incredible!

It was an awesome experience - very emotional to see all these people walking for me!

Enjoy!

This is so unbelievably beautiful.

This para resonated especially:

"You never get over cancer; you just get past it. But that doesn’t mean you love life less, simply because it’s a physical challenge. You actually love it more, because you realize it could be taken from you at any moment."

And thank you, too for walking on a muggy Saturday in July.

L.

Thanks for walking PJ. I take part in the annual Making Strides Againest Breast Cancer 5k, this will be my 9th year, 2nd in a wheelchair. But I do it. My biggest problem is I can't seem to gte thru and past what I have already physically been thru, and the new problems don't help. Sometimes it makes me feel very alone.

Robyn, sounds like you need some "cancer friends" to bond with. Can your hospital recommend anyone, would you think? That's how our team got together here - our hospital has a program that matches women with similar diagnoses/outcomes, and one thing just led to another... If nothing else, stay connected here on this site. Write a sharepost - hopefully people will respond. I'm sending you positive energy and hope that  your path going forward becomes smooth- PJH
