Last night, in an event of historic proportions, Barack Obama was elected 44th President of the United States. Now it’s time to assess where our next President stands on a number of cancer-related issues. Here are my top 10 ways the cancer community may potentially benefit during the upcoming O...

Nice summary, PJ. Also worth reading is this overview from the New Scientist on Obama's science and health agenda. The article's broader perspective means it offers less of a focus on specific, important diseases and condition, like breast cancer. Worth checking out.

Thanks, Sarah, it's good for all of us to broaden our view. We sometimes become very niche-issue focused, for sure. PJH

Pres. Bush and Sen. Dodd and Sen. Obama and Rep. Barney Frank and Fannie and Freddie, have given the world the Sub-Prime Mortgage Crisis and a possible WORLDWIDE DEPRESSION in 2009; however, some myopic fools are still looking to the Federal Government as their "All-Wise, All-Good Surgar Daddy" ... ???

I'm living on Planet Earth, doctor; where are you? Sounds like your world isn't the most pleasant place to be; I'm not tempted to change places with you. Cancer has taught me many things. One of them is this: I don't want to spend my life hating, being bitter, and feeling stressed. I want to love, help, and support others. There's not much I can control in life, but I CAN control my attitude. I choose hope. Apparently, you choose anger. I'm sorry for your troubles, as my Irish grandma would say... PJH

Your article is pure nonsense. You really know how to spin your facts. Let's all hope Obama doesn't destroy our health care.

Thanks for you input, Blade. Naturally, I don't share your reasoned assessment of what I wrote about President-elect Obama's health care initiatives, but to each his own... That's what makes this country great; and this site, where we can all share our opinions, a valuable forum. PJH
