PJH,

You are truly a woman after my own heart. I agree with you one hundred precent about the benefits of Reiki Meditation. Here in my area (NV) there is a place for those touched by cancer, this is how I was interduced to Meditation/Reiki. I tell you it has saved my life and helped me in my recovery from Cancer. Even my doctors said during my treatment, what ever it is that you are doing, keep doing it. My Chiropractic's two brothers one of them studied meditation in India, so he encouraged me to meditate at least 2 times per day. Some times I miss it by, I try to be mindful of trying to improve each week. My daughter has even see the difference in me, and now she is also learning how to find the quite point for herself each day. I'm not happy that I got cancer, but by having cancer I have learned how to control stress in my life. And I'm sure this is going to help me in my journey to recovery.Cool Namaste

Thanks for helping to spread the word, Stepaheda. You can actually FEEL the meditation working, can't you? I do Reiki on myself most every morning, and I automatically feel like I got up on the right side of the bed - that's the best way to describe it, I guess. Keep it up - it certainly feels a lot better than worry, stress, and fear, doesn't it? Wink And Namaste back to you- PJH

Yes you are right, and on the night's when it is hard for me to fall asleep. I do a little reiki on my self. And within 5 or 10 mins. I'm off to sleepy land. I love it, so happy that I was given this gift. Since my daughter wanted to learn, even her two little boy 4 & 7 and learning, and they asked every night (mom put on our relaxing music that Nana gave us) too cute. If they can learn while they are young to control stress, maybe they will never have to face what we have gone through.Wink

I agree with you completely. To overcome any disease we have to work with our consciousness and subconsciousness. And meditation is a nice way to do it. Besides, herbs are very powerful and are able to cure different diseases. I believe that there is nothing impossible. I read a lot of stories about peope who overcame the worst diseases. Find the movie The Secret. You'll easily find it at the rapidshare SE http://rapidpedia.com . When you got in such a situation you are sure to watch it. Besides, not long ago I found out that a young girl I know managed to overcome brain cancer. And she is only 24. She prayed all the time and drank some herbs. It sounds unbelieveable, I know. But this story proves once again that our faith that we'll be healthy can make miracles.

Wonderful suggestions, PJ.  After cancer has robbed us of feeling control of our lives, doing something positive to keep the cancer at bay can help.  I'm going to take up your challenge and do better about exercise this year.  Thank you.

Thank you very much for the resolution suggestions. I especially want to improve my diet next year. My exercise level, stress-busting techniques, and patient compliance are under control, but I have struggled with compulsive overeating for years. 2010 is the year to get it under control. Thanks again, and have a healthful, safe and blessed New Year.

And the same to you, Jan. I, too, struggle with eating - and I'm a baker by trade, so am confonted with bread and sweets all day long. At this time of the year, my willpower is no match for it; but much of the year I'm able to take small tastes and walk away... reluctantly! Best of luck to you- PJH

Hi PJ and thanks, great advice as usual. I used to have one glass of wine a day with a meal (remember doctors said that a good claret was good for the blood) have stopped that. I have always exercised so no problem there nor with my weight. My weakness is 'chocolate' and lots of it..have refused myself and will only now indulge on special occasions and cheese I love cheese.   I am back on femara and already the pain in my hands has started after just one week..But this time I am going to try and stick with it.

I would like to thank you PJ and your fellow workers who work so hard to bring us comfort and solace when we are worried or scared . We, as you say have to meet this disease half way and then maybe we can all be as lucky as you PJ...

A very peaceful Christmas and a better New Year to those who have only just been diagnosed and those who are looking to a brighter future after having gone through treatment. I think we all deserve just one glass of champagne over the festivities.Good luck everyone.Smile

Thanks so much, Ironside - DO indulge yourself in that glass of champagne. And a piece of dark chocolate, which is actually high in antioxidants and has been shown to be GOOD for you - in moderation, of course. My wish for 2010 is that all the women reading this will be as lucky as I am - to have survived and thrived. Yes, 8 years later, I still have chemo after-effects - itching trunk, burning eyes. But life is good. And I think that's what cancer can teach us. Life IS good - as we discover when we think we're going to lose it. Cheers and be well, everyone - PJH

Good Day. Genius is one per cent inspiration, ninety-nine per cent perspiration. Help me! I find sites on the topic: Famvir better than acyclovir. I found only this - buy acyclovir online without a prescription. Much i involved the epoch to my sense and i am only recommended that i am once a source, acyclovir. With this varicella-zoster it remains to tell to the refractory disease each course, any dithiol? With respect ;-), Parrish from Haiti.
