Hi everyone,
Today is Sunday and it is 10:45 at night. Cheryl's last visit to the oncologist was Thursday. No chemo was decided on because the Dr. is not sure of what angle to take since the markers had elevated. We thought that with the last tumor marker that the Ixempra&nb...

Thursday, May 01, 2008 at 10:44 AMKeep God close because the days get longer and the nights get shorter. she will need your love and support do not abandon her love her and cherish all the good days and the bad. I lost my beautiful wife feb 8, 2008 and I really miss her. I wished that I could have found a cure but like you said its in Gods hands. I told my wife the doctore did all they could and her walk was with God. Just don't let no one operate on her at this time. My wife had swelling in her right arm and she wanted it to go down so bad that she had surgery and I told her not and pleaded with the Doctors to no to perform the surgery she had it because she was able to talk and tell them what she wanted. I loved my wife and I miss her, love her like she was the last woman on this earth and it was only the two you.

Thursday, May 01, 2008 at 12:25 PMhello, thanks for sharing. I am truly sorry about your loss. Yes, without a doubt i think about the possibility of facing the same my self. I do have faith in God and his son Jesus Christ, and i know he can perform miracles, yet i may need to prepare for being without her. it's a lonely thought and i don't know how i will handle it if i must. I'm concerned for our children especially my youngest, though i know they all love Cheryl very much as I do also. She is my best friend. and I wouldn't be one half the man i am today if it weren't for her. While we wait for marker levels form the new chemo she started just 2 days ago,I know if it doesn't work short of a miracle she will become symptomatic within a few months according to the oncologist and pain will be controlled with medication. We continue to pray for her as family friends and pastors and the church even people who don't know her from my job. I will continue to update my sharepost. Replies like yours help to get through this. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks again.

Thursday, May 01, 2008 at 01:19 PMGod be with you! I have five children 9, 11, 12, 14, and 17. Four bys and one girl and if it wasn't for them I think I would breakdown everyday but I know I must be here for them. They need me and I need them. God is good and he's good all the time. Tell her my prayer and my love goes out to her and God is who he said he is and he will make her better here or either with him holding up. And you be strong my brother in Christ.

Friday, May 02, 2008 at 12:43 AMthanks bro. how are you doing with the kids? They are blessed to have you. You are thier strong leader. Anyone who kneels before God can stand before anything. I read your sharepost and it was good to read the replies. I have a daughter who is 18. i recently read that women who exercize and eat healthy have a 20-40% less chance of getting cancer. I'm glad to see that she does well in both categories. It is still a good idea for her to have check ups on a regular basis. I believe you are giving her the most important leson in life most and that is showing her that now matter what she has to face she never has to be alone with it. God is alive and cares.

Thursday, May 01, 2008 at 01:27 PMOh my gosh. Poor lady! I wish her luck! By the way, how to they find out of markers are elevated? Is that done through blood tests? If so, what kinds of tests?

Friday, May 02, 2008 at 12:23 AMTumor markers a done through a blood test. they are used to determine the presence of certain types of cancer. they are not always 100% correct but doctors look for trends either elevating or declining with each level to measure the effectiveness of chemo therapy. They also use cat scans to determine the presence of tumors. If you need more information, this web site has the 'ask' section you can use or the 'meet our experts' who may be more helpful. Thankyou for your compassion for my wife Cheryl.

Thanks for the update. You and your children are wonderfully supportive of Cheryl, good for you. It's great to see this, even though I'm sure it's very trying at times. Remember to take care of yourself too, OK?
