Okay.. so I am seeing a new Dr. She recomends an MRI as a "reference" point to start with as my breasts are still very dense at my age, (49 3/4). So I have that done last week, meds to stay in machine, IV for contrast... done over with.. WHEW! wont have to do that again for another year. WAIT.. not so fast... There is an "abnormal inhancement" on the MRI that looks suspocious. Hmmm... Okay so do I freak out and run screaming NO NOT ME AGAIN? No, Okay yes I am worried who wouldn't be, but I think if I wait until after the biopsy then I will not have the unknown over my head.
It has been 10 1/3 years sence I was DX'd with breast cancer. We have always known that there is a possibility that it could return. If that is what has happened, then we will deal with it head on, just as before.
Have any of you ever had this? I have not had a MRI biopsy so not sure what I am in for. Just know lots of meds to keep me calm in the tiny little space.
Thanks for reading, have a blessed day.

You might want to read this article about breast MRI's for a little more info about why your doctor might have ordered it. Of course, you won't know for sure until after the biopsy, but it might help you to know that because MRI's are so sensitive, they have a higher rate of false positives than some other kinds of imaging. I hope you get good results from your biopsy, but keep in mind that if this is cancer, you have all kinds of knowledge about coping with the medical system and procedures that you probably did not have before. I hope you get good news.
Thank You Phyllis.
I understand that there is a possibility that this could be false positive, and I understand why my Dr ordered the MRI. There was nothing seen on the Mammogram or Ultrasound.
I have leakage sometimes from my right breast. That sometimes I have pain. But we all experience this I am assumming from time to time.
I expected that she would call and say all is well. Yes this did blind side me.
