Yesterday I had my second plan verification session, and spent about an hour flat on my back under this tremendous machine - had a lot of time to study its characteristics, like degree markings, vga input port (no usb port ) etc. And it was cold in that room! Friday, January 04, 2008 at 09:21 PMI got a lovely 8" x 10" graduation from radiation certificate with a nice picture of Mickey Mouse on it. It was signed by Mickey, and Minnie, too. And all the radiation techs. No Pomp & Circumstance, though... Maureen, remember, don't put the lotion on in the morning - put it on AFTER radiation. And here's a funny story: ONe day we were all waiting for our turns, and waiting, and waiting... I finally stuck my head in to ask what was up. they said they were having trouble with the computer, they couldn't seem to get the machine working. They'd called the computer folks, and thought they'd better start sending patients home and rescheduling. I glanced over at that big machine and noticed it was unplugged.... Uh, guys... how about plugging it back in? Simple solutions are sometimes the best! Have fun, Maureen-

Saturday, January 05, 2008 at 10:11 AMPJ! What a great couple of stories! I will check with the staff at Holy Cross Cancer Center to see what they do. You have brightened my day. I will be careful not to use the lotion in the morning, as my appt. time is 9:20 each day. I did use it right after treatment yesterday, and was glad I did - I woke from my late afternoon nap with a bit of sensitivity, kind of a scratchy feeling, on the surface of my breast. Cheers!

The tattoos
Natalia Hernandez
Wednesday, January 09, 2008 at 01:19 AMYou are hilarious, I hated the tattoos and you had to be super careful in the shower so that they didnt wash off. And it was pretty cold on that table and the sounds that machine makes is scary and I always though it would fall on me. Hang in there stay strong and possitive!

Hi Maureen,
I believe you are destined for that "Certificate of Completion" after radiation!
Good luck with your treatments and keep writing - your ability to beautifully describe and share all you experience and feel is a true gift. Thank you!
Best,
