Just Diagnosed with Cancer? Chat with Experts

A protective gene?

By lucieloo, Editor Tuesday, February 13, 2007

Has anyone read about the recent research that came out regarding a genetic mutation that can give some women a small shield against breast cancer? I'd love to read more about this - here's the first article I came across recently - http://www.theage.com.au/news/National/Gene-protects-against-breast-cancer/2007/02/12/1171128841464.html

The article says: "This is the first concrete discovery of a common gene linked to the disease, and is the biggest find for the field since two very rare and high-risk genes were identified a decade ago."

If anyone has more info on this, let me know!

Thanks
